We have lots of stuff from some of our favourite local makers in the shop this week, friends!
First, some general favourites....like ANOTHER Yumi dress in the store!
How stunning are these blue suede pumps?!
This summer dress is super cute and also.....
....has this great back that you can still wear your mom-bra with!
As always, I have to point out that I know Bridget (it makes me feel important!), the local designer of Fridget Apparel, um, even though she might not actually ever recognize me or remember my name. But here is a pair of her cute leggings!
She even put a handy pocket in the back!
My heart is all warmed by this one from Queen Bee Creations of Portland. Rebecca makes the items by hand, and even has a Queen Bee retail shop! (Totally reminds me of the early days of Smoking Lily!). Dare I call this belt pouch a "fanny pack"? I know that fanny packs are supposed to be bad, but I actually find this kind of thing really practical, friends! Plus it's just so pretty!
From our friends down at Noul:
Also from Noul.....
Danish brand Jackpot sure knows how to make a lovely spring skirt!
Great cork wedges by Clarks:
Need you ask what is my favourite thing about this dress?
The key print!
A brief meta moment with these items that say "vintage".....
Oh, just a......sail boat skirt!!
Special "hi" to some of my new friends who popped into the shop on Sunday when I was in: the friend who said she reads the blog (awww, thanks!), and the one who has my ideal Pinterest hair-cut who said my hair was "adorable" (you know how I love that!). I'm in this Sunday too if anyone wants to come in and say hi! In the meantime, friends, let's all keep supporting our favourite women-owned small businesses (like Nokomis and Poppy Barely and Rowena and Bamboo Ballroom and Groove Stone and so many others!) so that they, like Modcloth, can eventually get bought out for millions of dollars by Walmart corp!
